Dr. Peter K. Kilpatrick is the president of The Catholic University of America. An experienced leader, educator, and scholar, Dr. Kilpatrick is widely published and holds or shares 12 patents in chemical engineering. He began his career at North Carolina State University and, after 24 years, was recruited by the University of Notre Dame to be dean of engineering. From 2018 to 2022 he was the provost and vice president for academic affairs for the Illinois Institute of Technology—an institution dedicated to lifting up people of all backgrounds. Combining research and faith is important to Dr. Kilpatrick, who became Catholic as an adult.
